I’m proud to say that I was born and raised in Brazil, where I received my MV and completed a Residency in Veterinary Anesthesiology followed by a Masters of Veterinary in Science in cat analgesia in the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at Sao Paulo State University.
I am a currently the Clinical Instructor of Veterinary Anesthesiology at the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Wisconsin – Madison.
In the meanwhile, I’m completing my PhD thesis, also on cat analgesia. The experimental portion of my PhD was partially completed in Brazil and also in Canada at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. It was there where I was offered my current position at UW-Madison, which I began in December 2007. While here I’m also endeavoring to accomplish the ACVA Credentials necessary for sitting on the Anesthesiology Boards.
I am a very strong advocate of anesthesia and pain management in veterinary medicine, and have dedicated my studies to increasing awareness and understanding of analgesia in dogs and cats, which I hope will contribute to an overall improvement in animal welfare.
