CE Applicable  to Pain Practitioner Certification

Our pain practitioner certification program requirements include 90 hours of pain related CE (or equivalent). We highly recommend the pain practitioner divide their CE time between allopathic pain medicine based therapy, physical rehabilitation therapy, and acupuncture therapy. Our liberal CE requirements options include a variety of ways for our members to satisfy this element in many cases without leaving your home area.

On a personal note, I highly recommend each member commit to an introductory course in physical rehabilitation therapy and an introductory course in acupuncture therapy through one of the established certification programs in the respective fields. You would gain around 80 CE hours and broaden your awareness of multidisciplinary patient pain management, a requirement for the pain practitioner.

An excellent alternative is to spend 3 to 4 days shadowing a certified acupuncturist AND 3 to 4 days shadowing a certified animal rehabilitationist. This allows you to remain in your home area while gaining up to 40 CE equivalent hours.

This is a partial list of organized CE options. If you have recommendations for additions to this list please send a message to drstein@vasg.org.
